The community space
I build software for my own needs. Whatever has no reason to be sold becomes free here, documentation included. In return, the community steers what ships next.
What you get
VIGIE and Cockpit first, then the ones that follow. Installable on your machine, with no account to create and no server to entrust your data to. Every release comes with its documentation.
The technical choices, the mistakes, what got thrown away. Building five products alone demands precise methods: they're shared as they are, without staging.
The next tool is chosen from what members ask for. One usage report outweighs a market study when you build for people you can actually read.
How it runs
In the book this project takes its name from, the worth of an act is measured by the chain of benefits it sets off, and hoarding grants no power. Transposed here, it makes for a simple arrangement:
One letter a month at most, and only when there's something to announce.
Your address is used to write to you, nothing else. No sharing, no trackers, no profiling.
One-click unsubscribe in every message. Addresses that leave are deleted.
Zero. The free tools are funded by the software that is sold, not by reselling an audience.

An email address is all it takes. You'll hear from me at the first tool release — and you can reply directly, I'm the one reading.
No data passed to third parties. One-click unsubscribe.
